We are an accounting firm offering accounting and tax services to our lovely customers.

We are governed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales (ICAEW) and we are an accredited training provider and thus are able to offer you a route to one day becoming a fully qualified Chartered Accountant.

We are a digital firm and serve customers both locally in England, Wales & Scotland as well as internationally.

Why We Are Hiring?

Due to the great way in which we look after our customers, we have been fortunate enough to continue to grow, and as such, we are looking for an accounting junior to join the team.

On-the-job training will be provided, and once you complete your probationary period, we will help fund the majority of the cost of your study towards your Chartered Accountant qualification.

Your ability to build rapport quickly and easily with others as well as a strong attention to detail and enquiring mind are critical to your success in the role.

If you have previous customer service experience, while not essential, it would be desirable as accounting might be about numbers and taxes, but at its heart, it is about serving people.

How Most People Apply

We know that it is often hard to get a foot in the world of accounting especially when you are starting out.

In the past we’ve often had a few hundred CV’s just thrown at us when we advertised a role. Pretty soon they all begin to look the same – with the same clichés popping up over and over again. It is very hard for anyone to stand out in the crowd!

While we will look through them to see what we can find, this is hard work and time consuming and not easy to identify exceptional people from a standard format CV.

Another Way To Apply

If you are an exceptional person it is very hard to stand out from the crowd. But there is a way….

If you record a short (3 – 5 minutes) video and upload it (ideally) to YouTube as an unlisted video (so it can only be watched if you have the full link) it becomes a lot easier to stand out!

In the video we are looking for:

A bit about you professionally / study wise, what you have been up to?
What are you ideally looking for in a job and work environment?
What is your current availability and notice period?
Have you had any accounting or customer service experience in the past?
And finally, for fun, tell us a little bit about yourself outside of work. Perhaps stuff that isn’t normally on a CV but makes you a bit special and different?

Why This Request From Us?

When hiring a senior with years of experience, their CV should demonstrate the skills acquired over time.

When you are starting off and perhaps haven’t ever had an office job, it is much harder to demonstrate transferable skills that would be useful in the role. The video better allows those with great skills to demonstrate it and stand out a lot more.

As you will see from our website, being photogenic is not a requirement!

A Bit More About The Role

The role is full time office based – we find it much easier to provide on the job training & ongoing feedback this way.

You will over time be trained in bookkeeping, CT61, VAT, payroll, etc and over time work up to preparing full statutory accounts and tax returns.

You will have some tasks working independently and some where you will be working in a team, reporting to either the junior or senior manager.

The existing team are lovely and pretty much (most) of our customers are really, really lovely people. We do try and go the extra mile for them while at the same time enjoying our work, adding value and savings them some tax along the way!
